Getting Ready for the Web Conference
- Try a test meeting at: http://www.webex.com/test7meeting.html
- Join the meeting at least 10 minutes beforehand
- First timers should be aware that there is a bit of software that is downloaded
- Decide how you will connect to WebEx
- Via PC/Mac, iPhone/Android, or iPad/Tablet
- Decide how you will connect via voice
- BEST quality: Landline phone
- NEXT best quality: cell phone
- Lowest potential quality: Voice over IP (depending on the bandwidth of connection)
- Be aware that the default of the chat is to everyone (keep in mind that chats are preserved and are public records and will be shared with others upon request)
During the Public Speaks Out portion of the Web Conference
- Use the “mute” feature unless you are speaking
- Be considerate of others – take turns talking
- Ensure others in your environment realize you are participating in a online meeting; keep background noise to a minimum
This WebEx service includes a feature that allows video and audio and any documents and other materials exchanged or viewed during the session to be recorded. By joining this session, you automatically consent to such recordings. If you do not consent to the recording, discuss your concerns with the meeting host prior to the start of the recording or do not join the session. An alternative to participating via the web is to physically attend. Please note that any such recordings are public records and will be shared with others upon request.
